DGO/Chairman, Board of Governors
The academic staff members then were Pastor S. A. Akinyelu (Principal), Pastor S. F. Akinleye and Pastor A. O. Kute with eighteen students on enrolment as the maiden students and had their graduation ceremony on November 1975 during the 10th Annual convention of the GOFAMINT in Akure, Ondo State. Several other graduation ceremonies have been held since then. It was initially located at the premises of an assembly of GOFAMINT situated at 50, Iretolu Street, Okitipupa, Ondo State and was later moved on 31st May, 1989 to its permanent campus on a twenty-acre piece of land at Igodan-Lisa along Okitipupa - Igbokoda road during the tenure of Pastor (Dr) A. O. Kute as principal. This campus is known as Okitipupa campus. The name of this Institution was changed from the Gospel Bible College to Rueben George Memorial College of Theology (REGEMCOTH) by the Executive Council of GOFAMINT in 1998 in honour and memory of the founding General Overseer of GOFAMINT and then later changed Reuben George Theological Seminary (REGETS) in 2015 by the National Executive Council of GOFAMINT.
At inception, REGETS used to offer only Ministerial Certificate to her graduands, but with the progress of education and the development of the Nigerian churches and GOFAMINT in particular, the need for more advanced theological education became very glaring. Therefore, the Executive Council of GOFAMINT and the Governing Board of the College decided to upgrade its curriculum to achieve this lofty ideal of higher theological education. To this end, the Seminary offers Certificate in Theology, Diploma in Theology, Bachelor of Arts in Theology & Religious Studies, PGD Pastoral Studies (Executive), Master Degree programmes in Divinity, Christian Leadership, Missiology and Religious Studies/Social Studies (Ed.). Diploma and Degree programmes in Religious Studies (CRS option) are affiliated with Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo (ACU). Also, our Pastoral programmes (Certificate, Diploma & Bachelor of Arts in Theology and PGD Pastoral Studies) are affiliated with Christ For The Nations Institute, Dallas, Texas, U.S.A.
The Ibadan campus which is also known as the degree awarding section was inaugurated by the Executive Council of GOFAMINT led by her General Overseer, Pastor (Dr) E. O. Abina on 14th September, 1998. This degree campus is located at Gospel Town, Alaka, along Igbo-Oloyin road, in Akinyele Local Government Area of Ibadan, Oyo State of Nigeria. It is about 4 Kilometers from Ojoo. REGETS presently has satellite campuses in places like Ife/Modakeke (Osun State), Ilasamaja & Magodo (Lagos State), Ikare (Ondo State), Abuja (FCT) and Ijebu (Ogun State). Attempts are being made to establish more Satellite Campuses.
